Regathering Updates

In-person services to relaunch April 18!

Our leadership team has been watching COVID-19 infection rates, state and county guidelines, and vaccination trends carefully, and we feel like next month is the moment that we’ve all been waiting for to begin regathering in-person at our Manhattan Beach campus in limited capacity.

We know not everyone will be ready to attend in-person services for now. Our Sunday services will continue to be available online each week. Find more details below on this page and subscribe to our eNews to stay up-to-date with the latest info.

Sunday Experience Indoors
Our in-person Sunday gatherings are happening only at our Manhattan Beach campus starting April 18th until our Torrance campus is finished with construction later this summer.
Note: Our indoor services April 18 and April 25 will be a “Watch Party” format. This means the same at-home video experience will be projected onto the big screens at the Manhattan Beach campus. We anticipate live worship, hosting and teaching to resume in subsequent weeks as we ramp up our volunteer teams.
If you do choose to join us in-person, you’ll notice some changes designed to help everyone stay healthy during this season:

  • Masks will be required for everyone age 2 and older.
  • Social distancing is encouraged.
  • Please self-screen before you arrive. Ensure that you have not been in contact with someone who has recently tested positive for Covid-19 and that you do not have any symptoms including: fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell.
  • In-person gatherings will be for the whole family. We are encouraging households to stay together while at church to limit the potential spread of coronavirus.

Throughout the last year, we have heard from many of you how much you have enjoyed our online service. For the first few weeks on campus in-person gatherings will stream the entire service on video. The service will continue to be available on-demand as usual on our website, app, or social channels if you need to catch up later in the week.
Please Note: Journey Kids and Student Ministries will not relaunch on April 18. We plan to reopen on-campus Sunday kids programming in the weeks that follow. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available on this page.
Not quite ready to bring the students or kids? JourneyKids and our Students ministries will continue to release their weekly content online. Check out the Kids or Students pages for weekly videos and other content.
What steps are we taking to prevent the spread of Coronavirus?
We’ve scaled back the number of indoor open spaces to limit people congregating close together. We will also disinfect the auditorium before and after every gathering.
We use EPA-recommended solutions to disinfect against the coronavirus. In addition, we spray all surfaces with an antimicrobial solution that continually inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew.
If you have specific questions and concerns about Covid-19, from the cleaning products we’re using to how we encourage physical distancing, we’d love to hear from you. Read more of our Frequently Asked Questions below or E-mail anytime.

Ready to Serve?

After more than a year meeting online, we need your help to relaunch indoor services. The only way we can do that is by you signing up to volunteer.

Whether you have a heart for kids or love to make people feel welcome, we have a space for you to use your God given passions and talents for the sake of the community!

Frequently Asked Questions

In many ways, our church is gearing up for more of a launch as opposed to just a regathering. In the past year, our volunteer teams have not been up and running and there are a lot of transitions that have taken place (people moving away, changing teams, etc.). We are using this phased approach to regathering to allow all of our teams to get back together, get fresh training on the regathering protocols required, and ramp back up to services that look like what was happening before COVID.

We are also a church that believes video teaching is a primary experience. Our Torrance campus when functioning is always video teaching, and as we look to open additional campuses they will also have video teaching. While we know that live teaching has been the norm at Manhattan Beach, for a few weeks as we execute our phased opening, everyone will get to experience the same service, some will be at home still and some will be gathered together at Manhattan Beach. We believe that it will be just as valuable and a great experience!

We know everyone is excited to be back together and to return to “normal.” We are working hard as a team to relaunch and follow all of the protocols, provide opportunities for people to gather safely, and rebuild the volunteer teams needed to make our services happen each week.

Yes! We encourage you to continue joining us online each weekend until you feel comfortable attending in person. Our weekend worship experiences will continue to be streamed every Sunday online, on Facebook, YouTube, Roku/Apple TV, and the Journey of Faith app.

Yes, we are limiting our capacity to ensure social distancing in our auditorium and overflow areas. As the local, state, and federal guidelines evolve we will update our seating limitations accordingly and keep you updated.

We will be seating individuals in both the main worship center and video venue and instructing attendees accordingly to keep a safe distance of 6 feet between families. We ask that every individual practices social distancing while in the lobby or common areas and exit the building to socialize outside.

Yes, we are asking guests 2 years and older to wear masks the entire time on our campus for our services. If you forget to bring a mask we are able to provide one to you before entering the building. We are closely watching local, state, and federal guidelines to ensure all recommended safety precautions are implemented to ensure your safety.

We will conduct regular cleanings between gatherings to ensure proper sanitation. Additionally, hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the campus.

Yes, all restrooms will be open and will undergo routine cleaning.

No, but temperature checks will be required for all our staff, volunteer teams, and all children attending when the JourneyKids environments relaunch. We ask everyone to use good judgment: if you are feeling ill or have a family member where you live who is feeling ill, please stay home and participate in our online experience.

Yes, you will still be able to find resources for your child online. Subscribe to JourneyKids Newsletter or visit the Kids page to watch the weekly video content for preschool and elementary children and more.

For the time being our Student ministry programs will be online only. Students are encouraged to experience our adult worship services online or in-person with their family when indoor gatherings reconvene. To watch our students weekly content check out this YouTube channel or head to the Students page to learn more.
