MID- WEEK CHILDCARE

We offer many mid-week childcare options here at Journey. To find out more about Life Group childcare, MOPS, or Moms Morning Out, refer to the Upcoming Events section below.

JOURNEY KIDS ON SUNDAY

Journey Kids is offered every Sunday at the same time as our in-person service on both campuses. Each week, kids will enjoy video storytelling, games and activities in a fun safe environment as they learn about God’s love. In order to keep our kids safe we require a secure check-in each weekend when you drop your kids off. You can get ready for your first visit by pre-registering your family information below.

GOT QUESTIONS?

No, just show up a few minutes before 9am or 11am and we’ll get you registered and checked-in. Some families find it helpful to fill out our Pre-Registration form so you are in the computer system to help speed your check-in, but it is not necessary. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Manhattan Beach

there are two areas for kids designated by age: the Nursery and Harbor building. If you need to register for the first-time, head over to the Courtyard in front of the Harbor Building. If you need to register for the first-time, a volunteer can help you at the check-in kiosks.

Nursery Area: Infants (8 weeks) – Toddlers (23 months)
Harbor Building: 2 years – 5th grade

Torrance Campus

At the Torrance campus the kids environments are through the main lobby to the right as you enter the building, and are designated by age. If you need to register for the first-time, a volunteer can help you at the check-in kiosks.

If you are new, our first-time check-in is located in the Courtyard at Manhattan Beach, just in front of the Harbor building 1st Floor.  At Torrance it is through the large lobby to the right before the Journey Kids rooms.

Your child’s safety is important to us, so we use a security tag system for child check-in and pick-up and a text contact system for parents/guardians in case we need to reach you during the service. We try to make the process easy with several electronic check-in station kiosks near the building rooms which print unique QR code tags for child/parent each time you visit. To check-out just return to the child’s room and provide the printed tag upon pick-up.

An adult staff member or volunteer will be on hand the entire time to assist you and care for your child while you attend service. When possible, please send one parent to check-in children to help keep the walkways as clear as possible.

At Journey Kids, children 5th-grade and younger experience Jesus on their level. Staff and volunteers help teach and care for your little ones using a ministry curriculum by age along with in-house created activities to nurture and help them begin to understand stories about God’s love and basic truths of the Christian faith.

Babies & Crawlers: Kids play with toys, create crafts and are read a story from the Bible.

Toddlers – Pre-K: Kids play games in a room or gated enclosure, make crafts, sing songs and listen to a Bible story.

Kindergarten – 5th grade: Kids play games, make crafts, sing songs and listen to a Bible story each grouped based on their age level.

Special Needs “Explorers”: We use the buddy system for the child to experience the same as peers with help of a one-on-one aid.

Nursing Mothers: Both campuses also have a family room where moms and infants can watch the service together.

Only staff and approved volunteers who have received a background check on file with Journey of Faith are allowed to stay in kids’ environments during the service for safety.

With that said, we welcome parents to serve as volunteers if you are interested. Please fill out this form if you want to get started.

Yes! Children are welcome to join with their parent in the adult service. The Sunday adult service is typically an hour with music at the beginning and a message to follow, so we encourage you to bring something that will keep them engaged for the duration of that time.

Our Manhattan Beach campus also has a “Family Room” area where moms and infants/toddlers can watch the service together adjacent to the Auditorium.

If your child is feeling un-well, we encourage you to enjoy our Journey Kids’ online video content which is produced weekly for Sunday until they are feeling better.

Children who have a fever of 100 or higher, wheezing, shortness of breath, persistent cough, constant runny nose with yellow tinge, lethargy, diarrhea, red or watery eyes, sore throat, undiagnosed rashes, persistent itching, or uncovered sores or other contagious illnesses should be symptom-free for 24 hours before check-in to a kids environment on campus.

Please notify us of all allergies, medical or behavioral needs so we can best assist your child when they are with us.

Since everyone will be following this wellness policy, we will not be taking childrens’ temperature on campus. In the instance that a child appears to have symptoms of not feeling well, we will move them to our designated isolation room and a member of our staff will wait with them and alert a parent through text message for an early pick-up.

If needed, please provide:

Infants/crawlers/walkers: premixed bottle, 2 diapers, a travel size package of wipes, and diaper cream all in a clear ziploc bag marked with their full name.

Toddlers/Children not potty trained: 2 diapers, a package of wipes, diaper cream all in a clear ziploc bag marked with their full name.

Children potty trained through 5th grade: Nothing needed, please keep all toys at home.

While we will be changing diapers, please know that any child with a soiled cloth diaper will be changed into a disposable diaper. We also ask that any child requiring a pacifier have it on a clip to make sure that it stays with that child all morning.

We will be encouraging hand washing as much as possible too!

At the Manhattan Beach campus please leave your stroller in the Nursery Play Area outside the gate.

At the Torrance campus please leave your stroller in the main lobby area.

Yes, but you must check them out and re-check them in between services so the staff and volunteers can sanitize and clean the area.

We will try our best to redirect their anxiety towards an activity in the room. If the child is continuing to struggle, we will text you to leave the service immediately to pick them up early.

Yes, our goal is to accommodate any child in kindergarten-5th grade who has special needs. We use a buddy system so kids experience same as typical peers with one-on-one aid. Please Contact Us and provide details on your situation before arriving for the first time so we can properly prepare for your child’s visit.

Yes, all volunteers and staff must have an approved background check on file before serving in the kids’ environments.
